Instructions
  1. Grind coconut and poppy seeds with required water and grind it to a smooth paste.
  2. Heat oil in a cooker add cumin seeds, Fennel seeds, Cloves,Cinnamon and star anise.Add chopped onions and saute until golden. Add Ginger Garlic paste and saute till raw smell goes off.
  3. Add curry leaves, Turmeric powder, Chilly powder and saute well. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till it becomes soft.
  4. Add chopped carrot, Beans, Potato and soaked chana dal. Add required salt and coconut paste and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Before closing lid add required water, few coriander leaves and garam masala . Pressure Cook for 3 whistles.
  6. Open lid when pressure goes off. Finally Garnish with coriander leaves.
  7. Tasty chana kurma is ready to serve with roti,Dosa and chapathi's.
Recipe Notes

Soak the chana dal for minimum 3 hrs to maximum over night. If you forgot to soak before soak it in hot water for 1 hour.

You can also pressure cook the chana dal separately and add to the kurma.
