- 6 Nos Big size Tomatoes
- 2 Nos capsicum
- 1 No Big Onion
- 15 Nos Garlic Cloves
- 10 Nos Dry Chilies
- 6 tpsn Peanut Oil /Sesame Oil
- 1 tspn Sambhar powder
- 1/2 tspn Turmeric Powder
- 1/4 tspn Asafoetida
- 1 tspn Mustard Seeds / Kadugu
- 1 tspn Urad dal/Ulutham Paruppu
- 1 tspn Channa dal /Bengal gram
- 1 tspn Cumin Seeds/Jeera
- Salt to taste
- Coriander Leaves & Curry leaves

- Heat oil in kadai, Add in mustard seeds,Cumin seeds, Chana dal and urad dal and when it start splutters add in the crushed garlic and curry leaves and saute well. Then add in the dry red chillies and saute well.
- Add in the sliced onion and saute it becomes translucent and then add finely chopped capsicum and saute well for 2 Minutes.
- Then add in the tomatoes and salt and saute till it becomes mushy.
- After when the tomato is cooked fully add turmeric powder,Sambar powder and asafoetida powder and saute till raw smell goes off. Finally garnish with coriander leaves.
- Tasty Tomato Capsicum thokku is ready to serve with Rice or chapathi or Idli or Dosa.
- You can also make this and store for 1 week in refrigerator and can reheat and mix with hot rice and can take for lunch.
- Tomato should be thoroughly cooked till all the water from it is absorbed fully to get a perfect taste.
