Pudina or mint  is a very popular herb all over the world and Pudina Pulao Rice is one of the most flavourful rice recipes you can cook up. Mint has excellent curative properties and is considered a great home remedy for stomach ailments. Mint is also best known as a cure for halitosis and bad breath. So with all these benefits of mint, do you really have to wonder about pudina rice?

Mint has one of the highest antioxidant capacities of any food,Two tablespoons of fresh mint provides 2 calories, 0.12 grams of protein, 0.48 grams carbohydrates, 0.03 grams of fat and 0.30 grams of fiber. Mint contains small amounts of potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin C, iron and vitamin A.3

Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a cooker add Fennel Seeds, Clove,Green Cardamom,Cinnamon,Star Anise and Bay Leaves and saute for a few seconds,
  2. Then add thinly sliced onions and saute till onions turn pink.Add the ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw flavor of the goes.
  3. Add Green chilllies and pudhina and saute for 5 minutes.
  4. Add little ghee,Required water and salt according to quantity of rice.
  5. Add soaked rice and pressure cook for 1 whistle.
  6. Tasty pudhina rice is Ready.
  7. It can be served with onion raita and mushroom masala.
Recipe Notes

You can also add fresh peas or soaked peas along with pudhina.

You can also add vegetables if you wish.

As i did soaked for 15 mins i left if for 1 whistle,if you did not soak you can leave for 2 whistles.

For 1 cup of rice i have added 1 and half cup of water.
