Instructions
  1. Take Gulab jamun mix powder 4 cups and 1 cup of thickened milk and mix well till it gets a sticky nature.
  2. Add water if needed and knead the dough well for more than 5 Minutes. Cover it with a wet cloth or a plastic wrapper and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Add 8 cups of sugar and 8 cups of water. Water and sugar should be double the amount of powder taken.
  4. Keep stirring the sugar and water till all the sugar gets dissolves as the sugar will settled in the bottom if not stirred.
  5. After boiling for 15 minutes check for the string consistency and add in a pinch of cardamom powder.
  6. When the sugar syrup is boiling grease your palms with ghee and make small balls from that dough.
  7. Heat oil in a medium flame and add the balls in batches and fry well till it gets brown colour on all sides.
  8. Take out the fried balls with a laddle and immerse it in the hot sugar syrup and press it with a laddle till it gets fully immersed in the sugar syrup. Let it be in the sugar syrup for about 30 minutes.
  9. Now Gulab Jamun is ready to be served. Finally garnish the top with badam, Pista ,Saffron strands or Cashews.
Recipe Notes
  • Oil should not be more hot, It should be in medium hot otherwise the balls will change its colour soon and will not be cooked inside.
  • Dough should be kneaded well to get softer gulab jamuns.
  • softer the dough,softer are the jamuns.
